The Lawrence-Itapua Exchange is now in its fourth year of building friendship, and cultural and linguistic understanding between the young people of Lawrence, Kansas and Encarnacion, Itapua in Paraguay.This month we will be wecloming our fourth delegation of students from Itapua with a public reception on Sunday, January 29th from 1:30 to 3:30 at the Lawrence Depot and Visitors Center just across the bridge in North Lawrence.
Please join us for cookies and punch, a display of Paraguayan dance, and a chance to meet and welcome the nine visiting students.
This is a great opportunity to catch up with former exchange hosts and participants. We will also be selling homemade empanadas and collecting donations to raise funds for the program.
